My experience as a clinical supervisor includes providing clinical supervision for level 7 trainee psychotherapists and counsellors  on UEL's P.DIp/MA programme, providing theraputic and reflective practice consultation to supervising social workers, foster carers and other fostering agency specialists and supervising counsellors and therapists working in private practice with adults, children and young peopale and families, and supervising a network for coaches.

My aim is to support you to work with your clients in a way which has integrity for you. To promote your competence, knowledge and skills, to enrich the quality of your work, your self- awareness and confidence through reflective practice, to encourage you to monitor and manage your wellbeing, and to ensure the welfare of your clients by remaining mindful of ethical and professional ways of working.

I understand supervision as an activity and a relationship which will support you to maintain appropriate standards in your therapeutic work, to give you space to reflect, and a place to explore and develop your practice.  It does not have a disciplinary, case management or line management function, nor should it be a substitute for personal therapy where this is required.

Together we will identify and discuss any ways in which my understanding may differ from yours and in creating a supervision relationship we can talk together about your needs and preferences and tailor our work to suit you.  We will think through the purpose and aims of our supervision relationship and come up with a contract between us to focus and orientate our work. We will review this on a regular basis as our work and your needs develop.

I have completed BPS Approved Training in Clinical Supervision, which meets the training standards required to confer eligibility to the British Psychological Society’s Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS) and have obtained SDS accreditation: CSAccred (ACC).
